There is a Plant Conspiracy 🌿 Agree or Disagree?
Summary
A straphanger has a theory about why your houseplants keep dying: they're sold sick. The conspiracy, according to this rider, is that potted plants come pre-diseased, which explains why they die even when you give them sunlight and water. "It's not your fault," they insist. Plants are the least demanding living thing you can own. They're easier than kids or pets. And yet they still perish. Kareem asks the natural follow-up: how many plants does this person actually have? One. Well, one dead one. It's basically a memorial now.

I think potted plants—like the little personal ones you get—they're sold sick. They're sold sick, yeah? Like, ill. They're not well. That's why they die.
When did you come up with the realization that they're all set? It's the least care that you have to do it. It's not a kid, it's not a pet. You literally do the least—you give it sunlight and water—and it still dies. And people are like, they're always confused. They're like, "Oh, did I neglect it? Is it my fault?" It had something else going on. It's not your fault.
How many plants do you have at your house? I have—I have one.
You have one plant? It died. Oh, it's sitting there. It's a memorium at this point.
