The world HATES hijabI women 🧕

Sep 17, 2024 · 0:59

Summary

A woman in hijab shares a stark reality with Kareem: the world hates hijabi women, and when you combine women with hijab, "they really hate." She argues that people don't like women choosing what to do with their bodies, whether that's wearing hijab or observing religious practices. The conversation turns heavy when she recounts working at a makeup counter, where a man circled for twenty minutes before jumping over and threatening to rip the hijab off her head and kill her. But she pivots quickly. Just listen to her music instead.

So what's your take? The world hates hijabi women? 100% agree. Not only do they hate the hijabi women, they hate the hijab without the women. Yeah, they hate women and they hate hijab without the woman and then together they really hate. They really—it's like, "Woo." I think they just don't like a woman choosing what to do with their body.

Yeah, and I think they also want you to like assimilate, become more like the culture that's here. And it's like, that's just a bit too much, you know? Oh, you want to pray five times a day? Okay, cool. Like, combine the prayers. But then like hijab is where we cross the line. You want to during Ramadan? Yeah, problem. Exactly. But the minute it comes to hijab? Yeah. Have you ever experienced any sort of hate for the hijab? Oh yeah. I used to work at like a makeup counter, and I had a man like walk around the counter for like twenty minutes, and he was staring at me, and there was no security, and then he waited till no one was in the store and then he jumped over the counter and said that he was going to rip that off my head and he was going to kill me. But this is like, just listen to my music. You don't need to hear me like cry on the subway.
