Nobody Should Be Able to Record Music Ever Again
Summary
A rider on the train drops a scorching hot take: nobody should be allowed to record music ever again. Kareem pushes back, but the guy clarifies. There's already enough recorded music to last forever, he argues, so if you want to hear something new, you have to go see it live. He admits he lives in New York City and goes to tons of shows, listening to zero recorded music at home. Then comes the kicker: his first sexual experience happened at a Radiohead concert in 1996 during "Fake Plastic Trees" on the Bends tour. His message? Get out of your room, stop doing "Camy" (whatever that is), and go to a real show where real things happen.

So what's your take? Nobody should be allowed to record music ever again? 100% disagree. That's crazy. You're saying we're done? We're done. There's enough music exactly to exist for the rest of everyone's. You can listen to a new artist every 15 minutes for the rest of your life and still not exhaust the amount of music that's already recorded.
Well, you want to end new artists? No, I don't want to end new artists. If you want to hear new music, you have to go see it live.
Oh, sneaky sneak take. So if you want to discover a new artist or listen to music that is new, you have to go to a live show? Yes. It's actually a good take. It's pretty interesting. I like that.
Well, I mean, let me talk about it more. Go ahead. So floor is yours, pal. I go to a lot of shows. I don't listen. I don't listen to recorded music at all. I just, I live in New York City. Not everybody lives in New York City and can do what I do. Sorry, do what I... is... g... no, I got. I, I don't. I listen to, I listen to live music. Okay. Like it might be an overshare right now, but the first time I ever went down a girl's pants was at a music show.
You went down the pants? Yeah. I mean, it was Radiohead, "Fake Plastic Trees," 1996 on the Bends tour. It was, you know, like that kind of stuff doesn't happen anymore, not when you're at home listening to Spotify, when you're listening to Spotify playlist. Get out of your room. Stop doing Camy and go to a concert. Yes.
Do you want your hat back? Sure.
